The topic of fear isn’t explored much in this online entrepreneurial world. We hear about entrepreneurs winning all the time. We’re inundated by motivational quotes and speeches on how to achieve success. But, hardly do you ever hear much about the biggest emotional hurdle we must all learn to overcome.
Akshay Nanavati is a Marine Corps veteran, adventurer and entrepreneur.
Upon overcoming drug addiction in high school, Akshay enlisted in the United States Marines despite two doctors telling him that boot camp would kill him because of a blood disorder he was born with.
He has since run ultramarathons, climbed mountains in the Himalayas, and skied 350 miles across the world’s second largest icecap. He also spent 7 months in Iraq, where his job was to walk in front of con- voys to find improvised explosive devices.
After the war, he was diagnosed with PTSD and struggled with alcohol until he reached the brink of suici- de. To heal his brain, he spent years studying neuroscience and psychology. This led to the creation of his book “Fearvana: The Revolutionary Science of How to Turn Fear into Health, Wealth and Happiness.”
The Dalai Lama says “Fearvana inspires us to look beyond our own agonizing experiences and find the positive side of our lives.” Seth Godin calls Fearvana “Counterintuitive, practical and potentially life-chan- ging.” Jack Canfield, the coauthor of the #1 New York Times bestselling Chicken Soup for the Soul Series and The Success Principles says “Fearvana is without a doubt, one of the few books that really does stand out as a must read book.”
Today, Akshay runs a global business helping people live limitless lifestyles. His work helps fund his non- profit, the Fearvana Foundation.
Akshay has been featured in Forbes, Psychology Today, entrepreneur.com, CNN, Huffington Post, Run- ners World, NBC, Fox and Military Times, among many others.
This was such an enlightening conversation about the topic of fear and one I know you’ll get a lot of value from. Check out the book, “Fearvana” and leave Akshay a review on Amazon.
